Pre Yom Tov Event

A record 100 people adults and children attended the Lubavitch Annual Pre Yom
Tov Event held at Eastwood House.
Highlights of the event were the world famous Tzivos Hashem Shofar Making Factory
led by Rabbi Yossi Simon of London, and the beginning of the writing of a new Sefer
Torah commissioned by the children of Rabbi & Mrs Chaim and Sora Jacobs in honour
of their parents 44 years of dedicated service to Scottish Jewry as shluchim of the
Lubavitcher Rebbe.

Other activities included Chala baking, Honey Cake Making, Tzimmes making by Tzirl
Jacobs, Apple and Honey Dipping, Rosh Hashona sand art, New Year Card Making,
and Wine Tasting.
A tasty lunch catered by L'Chaim's Restaurant under Sora Jacobs was enjoyed by
all present, and all guests received the gift of a jar of honey.
A variety of 20 types of Kosher wine were on sale, as well as Judaica, Cookbooks,
Machzorim, Chala Covers and more. People attending took the opportunity to have their
Mezuzos checked on the spot by the visiting Sofer.
The beginning of writing of the new Torah was done by famous Sofer scribe from
Manchester, Rabbi Uzzi Brown and many men present had the opportunity to write a
letter in the new Torah with the Sofer's help. For most this was the first time ever that that
had personally participated in this special mitzvah. It was an afternoon full of learning,
warmth and emotion for all present.
It is a very special Mitzvah to buy a Letter in a Torah at least once in
a life time and this is why the price of letters is being kept to a special low price.
